combine heads

is there any value to old Massey Ferguson and gleaner G combine heads. should i scrap them or try and sell for parts. keep in mind that the most recent head bought has sat outside for 10 years. thanks

Round here in my part of Iowa (NW) they are pretty much scrap iron.

Don't know much bout the Massey stuff but till the Hugger Gleaner didn't have much for corn heads. I ran a couple of the Orange ones and ran a Black POS head for 80 acres before putting a 40 series deere on my M and then M2.

Even the 40 series Deere's are dropping off in value hard.

It stands to reason that with all the combines being scrapped, there will be a glut of heads. I watched a near new MF 1144 sell for $500 a few weeks back. When I asked the local dealer why he didn't buy it, his answer was that he had 5 just like it on his lot already. How long can this go on for???

I think where you are and what they are will have a big part in your answer. Pre-11 series MF heads are probably junkers, unless they are the old ones with attached feeder housings and someone needs them.

You wouldn't have an 1152 MF by chance????

If you're close to SE Lower MI I may be interested in Massey heads if you have a grain table.. (preferably 13-15 footers)

Junk will work just fine for my cause.
