This is about a 90 hp tractor. Will be running on some slight hills. Will the tractor with a loader and weighted rear tires run this baler alright? Thanks

Wait, isn't a 6300 a 75hp (not 90hp) tractor? You might pushing it with a 75 horse, but it's close. It looks like the Vermeer specs call for 80 PTO horsepower.

That's what I was thinking. Neighbor was a 6300, and a 4020 will run circles around it. I'd think more like you mentioned, 75 hp. It'll likely run it, but I think it will be all it wants. I run my 505 superI with an 886 I.H. and it knows it's back there. My 686 has it's hands full with the same baler.

Gotta throw my .02 in here. We got our first 605M 6 years ago ( yes, an early model ) Now running a 605 super M. the first season we had it, we pulled it with a 6150 MF (86 pto) the 6150 did a fair job, but you couldn't get the productivity it ( the baler )was capable of. Stepped up to a 105 h.p. ( PTO ) tractor. Works much better. It all depends on how heavy your crop is, how fast you want or need to go. Ken

6300 is 70-75 horse. Might be about 90 at the engine....
It'll probably handle the baler slowly but it should handle it. Weight will not be a problem but power probably will be...

(quoted from post at 16:39:32 05/17/11) Neighbor was a 6300, and a 4020 will run circles around it.

4020 if in spec's is 94 PTO hp. and 6300 according Tractordata is 75 pto HP. That extra 19 HP would cause the 4020 to out perform the 6300 not including that a 4020 is 404 cid engine and the 6300 is 239/279(Tractordqata states both cid's)
