JD 770 won't start

I'd check/clean battery cables especially where ground cable attaches to tractor. Could also be neural start switch or any other safety switches such as on pto.

Use a volt meter or test lite and see if you have battery voltage when you twist the key to start. Should be a terminal on your switch that feeds battery voltage to your starter solenoid or to the starter. If you have voltage here you need to do as Jim suggested and clean all those connections until shiny. If this doesn't fix the problem your solenoid may be defective if there's one on your tractor. You can run a separate battery cable from your battery to your starter and see if it will start. This will bypass your starter switch you just need it in the run position for voltage to your ignition. Make sure you tractor isn't in gear and the brakes are set. Hal
