Hobby Farm (Pics)

Some how between the raindrops here in Swampville (NW PA) I got my crops in. I only planted about 3 acres of hay/oats and three acres of corn. Thought I would share some pics.

Since I can't figure out how to post text over the photos....

1.My wife helping.

2.Stuck like an idiot.

3. Best tractor on the property.

4. I think these two make a nice pair.

5. What happens to a white dog when he runs in wet grass.

6. Tastes just like Angus I swear ;>).

7. Baa baa baa all day :>(.

Haven't had a two cylinder stuck while disking for 35 years-but I've had some newer ones stuck since then. Thanks for the pics. It's nice to see what someone else's farm looks like. Jim

Here in the deep South, I would swear that you sprayed that poor dog with Prowl (Pendemethalin). A very yellow herbicide used on P-nuts!

Yeah, I got my 135 stuck with a tiller the other day, and it was drier than where you were. Your other half looks like she is ready to get nice and dirty getting you out of there. Grass did that to the dog? Looks like he is going punk rock. What is in the barn? Looks like an ol' purple Italian Same.. nics pics, thanks for showing them!

Thanks for the nice responses.

I had no business being in that field. lol

No chemicals on the dog. Just running through wet grass. We thought it was pretty weird.

really nice pictures, your living the life a lot of us dream of! Most of my pictures are of me alone, glad to see you have a parntner with the same love for the country!

Nice pictures. You need to learn to be patience. Do you know what you are doing to your soil by getting on it to early. Every picture shows muddy fields or muddy tires. Yes sometimes if you have a lot of acreage to work you cannot help but to work wet but not on a hobbie farm. Set back and let your land dry it will take care of you a lot better if you take care of it.

Your right, I do need more patience. lol
The pics make it look worse than it was though. Most of the fields were dry and worked down nicely. I have some bad wet spots that still arn't dry. I'm glad I got it done.

No your not missing anything that's a dairy steer. They work out well for us. We like to tease people about the "Angus" beef.

Nate, How did you ever get the oats in? We're in Mercer Cty....retired and never got to plowing until this week and now more, more and more rain.
Nice set up. The amish build all our stuff too.

Love your pix!!! BTDT When I was first plowing, feller told me I should not plow north and south, but east and west??? Be ready for lots of ear bending advice. Have fun. I know you will. Dave

I looked at all your pictures, but I kept going back to picture #1. She is a beauty and a keeper for sure.

Dean
