Pulling a Scraper (For those who Farm BIG)

I thought this post showing some Modern Machinery would be better appreciated here than the other place I posted it.
Not sure anyone there got the "For those who Farm BIG" advertising slogan joke.
1964 G706 pulling an Eversman scraper. Really worked nice. I was removing the evidence of an old dike and hauling the dirt to low spots in the field.

It is surprising just how quickly you can move dirt with those scrapers. I "watched" a new 4 lane divided highway being built with several large tractors pulling "double" scrapers...actually seemed to be faster than with pans.

Thanks for posting picture.

Nice pair, pulled a scraper just like that with dads 707 when we built a pole barn in 89, yea they can move a lot of dirt if you don't have to haul far.

It does pretty well as you can go in a little higher gear and idle down. Then when you are full open it up to wide open. Of course I would not want to haul a quarter mile!
I was really amazed at how much I got done.
Don't see any 707 or 708's around here. (Oregon) One of the big timber companies bought quite a few 706's. I guess they used them in their tree farms. 4wd is nice on a hill!

I guess it is hard to remain anonymous when you are the only MM tractor owner in 50 miles...
Some years ago we were baling with the 706 by the old Pine Tree Patio. (long story) I was pulling a Freeman baler. All these people kept looking at me going by on highway 18. I thought it was because I had such a neat old tractor. It was actually because I had ran into a bale and it kept rolling over and over in front of the pumpkin on the FWA. The front main seal was leaking and the bale was completely black with oil.
Didn't seem funny then...
