JD 4020 powershift park gear

I just got through buying a jd 4020 console powershift standard tractor but the park gear won't hold. How big of a deal is it to fix park gear.

Hard to say. Itis probably only a cable adjustment , but could be a lot more serious.

Might be an issue with the parking pawl that is under the platform- need to take the transmission cover off to access it. Many times a broken spring. If broken, don"t obsess about getting the broken one out of the trans case- many been laying down there for years.

Got the same problem on my p/s, cable adjustment does not last long ..is this a bigger problem ?
