GREAT DAY !!!!

I had a great day. My grand son walked to the mail box and back. Well the lane is 1/3 mile long. So 2/3 of a mile walk four weeks after being shot five time is pretty good. He is already looking better. He starts his physical therapy Monday at Iowa city. His Aunt ( the Vietnamese Doctor, one of the sisters) is taking him.

Also we finished planting corn today. 1280 acres between my brother, BIL, and myself. Just pulled the planters in when it started raining. We started working ground last Sunday. We already had everything fertilized and fall chiseled plowed. So hit it with the finisher and plant. My brother bought a 12 x 30 planter this last winter. So we had the 6 x 30 and the twelve both going. Worked real well. Much of my ground would not plan well with a twelve row. Too many small contours.

We will start the soybeans next week when weather permits. I don"t have any beans this year. All corn and alfalfa. I have eighty acres of hay and 280 acres of corn. Enough for me.

Glad your grandson is doing well. Tell him many many thanks. Glad you are getting your crops in. Too wet here in Middle Tennessee.

Your grandson is more of a man than I ! If I was shot like that I would be still lying there crying like a school girl. That's a hell of a recovery time he's making . We two are in the field and is going ok , oh the hired hand buried the 9400 JD with the new 35' disk. He made it thru the first time with the disk out of the ground,so he thought he could get lucky again NOT ! But that's nothing compared to what your grandson has been thru so none of us can complain. Please THANK HIM AGAIN !

Hello Jdseller,
WHAO! That is a fighter for sure.It is a great day when you see a fast recovery like that.
Good for him! and for you as well.
Guido.

I am proud of the grit this young man has. I should have gave a few more details. He still has arm brace canes that he uses to steady himself with. Also Anut Sun Lee(Doc) was right there with him every step of the way. It took him almost two hours to do it. He slept for six hours after he got back to the house.
He did it again today. Took a half an hour less. He says he will keep at it until he can do it in under three minutes. That was a game his grand mother and he played while he was in high school. He would bet that he could go get the mail in under three minutes. If he did it he got some home made goodies.

His Step grand mother gave him a big piece of apple pie today. So he is getting his energy up. LOL

And to think that probably winning the lottery was to be the greasted day in your mind.

These events help us remember what is important. I told my son once that a big pay check was of little value if you did not live long enough to cash it. Within a year he stopped painting water towers.

I hope the grandson keeps up the pace. Is he going to the VA?
