How to get old backhoe ready to tow

Good evening,

I'm looking to purchase an old case 580B (for replacement parts for my 580C). It's about 15 miles away.

The backhoe hasn't been run in over 10 years. The issue is that the bucket + outriggers are down. Would I be able to release the hydraulic pressure (assuming there is still any) and winch up the outriggers and bucket before chaining them to the backhoe? Or undo the hydraulic hoses for those parts?

Thanks! [/list]

You should not need to break any hoses open. Have some one hold (or you could tie) the control lever for the function you want to move in the direction required to make the move if it was running, while you Jack or winch/com-a-long it up. Release the lever after you have secured it in the raised position. Then do the same for the other things.

I would find out if theres an a disconnect between the
enghine and transmission before pulling it any further
than on and off a trailer.
