Hot shot trucker s

Has any one out there ever used a hot shot trucker to move a
tractor.

Of course most have. You wouldn't want to pay for a 80000 lb. Rig to hanl a 3000 to ,12000 lb. Tractor.

Well I didn't know how its done now. The last tractor I had hauled was 40 years ago. Hauled from Idaho to Ohio for 500. It was a 3000 # tractor on a 80000# truck. But it was a back haul and there were 5 other tractors on the truck.

While a hot shot is an alternative, their niche is light weight high cube loads. The opposite of tractors. Your best bet is someone that is putting together a load with a number of other pieces.

I'd contact both of them and get a price and go from there.

Define "small tractor". Make? Model?

There is a hauling site on the left at this site. This is just discussion about hauling.

All of the replies are correct. Though I would put and ad in the hauling section here. And get quotes from a few places. Also make sure they have insurance for the work. Cargo and liability are the big ones. No insurance could equal no tractor if there is an issue with damage or accident. Don't put up any money ahead of the haul either. Anybody wanting cash in advance is probably a scam. When I hauled I never asked cash in advance of delivery. there were a few that did insist on paying ahead. A partail will probably cost you around 1.50-2.00 per mile with fuel where it is and if you go a full load charge for it that will probably be in the 2.50-4.00 per mile range I would expect. I have been out of the loop on this for a few years now so may be off on rates. sizes will also dictate prices. If it is wider than 102inches or 8.5 feet or more than 13'6 then those will become oversize and the price goes up more. Since you have not said what a small tractor is it leaves a lot to relative for size. Small to me is getting to be less than 125 HP and big is closer to 350-600 Hp articulated. The tractor is about 5 feet wide 5 feet high and with the loader maybe 12 feet long. It may weigh around 3000 #. Is is rare so I won't say what it is till it's here in my yard.
