narrow door enclosed trailer - will it fit?

Looking to haul my 1940 John Deere H. I have an enclosed trailer that's long enough. But the doorway is only 6' 1" wide. The H axle stubs are 6' 6" wide. Any creative ideas how I can get this to fit in there?

Cutting the axles off is one solution. That is a pretty easy job with a 4 1/2 grinder and a metal cut off blade. Put a rear tire on blocks so you can turn the
tire and constantly turn the tire while you cut with the cut off blade. A steady hand when you start the cut is necessary. It is a two person job.

But how wide is the trailer? We (as farmers kids) have been putting 12 foot disc
through a 10 foot gate.If you can get one side in first, can you twist the other
around?

I thought about that...but it's a permanent solution for a temporary problem. I'm skiddish to cutting my axles. Even though I don't ever plan to widen the rear wheels.

I really like your method with a grinder. That would leave a better look than a cutting torch. Hmmm....

Find another trailer? Remove the first section of walls and top of the enclosed trailer? Drive the tractor to its destination (does the H have a road gear?)?

Long term and for beat results a wider trailer is the solution. I always hate to see the butcher jobs most axle cuttings turn into by the time they are done. I suppose if only one axle was cut it would be cheaper to replace than 2 later if needing the longer axle later. Will still look like a scrap mans job when done. If the center hole and the slight chamfer was put back on the end of the shaft I suppose it would not look so bad. Nobody ever does that though.

I have cut axles off of pulling tractors.
I just blocked up under the axle. And used
my chop saw. About 2 minutes a side. I did
take the wheels off.

I thought of the exact same thing before reading your post. Great minds think alike. Ha ha. Wingnut
