Anyone in the Toledo area with extra space to transport an Allis Chalmers B to the Mackinac bridge crossing in September ? Have the tractor but no way to get it there.

Cfc There are some guys that their club has people that will organize things and drive them up to the bridge then a family member will bring the trailer up to load it for the trip back. Ask around in your club. There are several that come up from around the Lower counties of MI and Toledo area. I used to haul tractors up there for several years and about 4 loads per year. Not anymore and will probably only go up to watch this year. Been across for all but the first year. It is a fun day with lots of tractors of about anything you can imagine for tractors there. Bright and shiny to old and dirty in their work clothes. They do try to enforce the 10MPH thing even though there are some who ignore it and make huge gaps in the stream of tractors which bores the audience causing them to lose interest as they think it is over and such. Some of the gaps are as much as 1/2 hour long. They also have some tractor games each day after the drive in ST. Ignace. An Allis B might be one that will not go the required 10 MPH . Check with Bob or Jeremy at Owosso Tractor Parts. The sooner the better. It gets pretty chaotic by later in the summer. You can sign up now for that sign up starts the 1st of March and caps at 1500 tractors. I have only heard of it being filled the last couple years though there are never a full 1500 close but has been short by a hundred or so each year for actually crossing. Going by the numbers shown in ST.Ignace each year. Bring your own supplies of groceries or pay for expensive eats while there. The Bowling Alley and Clydes are probably the 2 best cheapest places in ST. Ignace. The truck stop has good food and a bit expensive though. I've ate at most of the places over the years at one time or another. Do Bring rain and cool gear. It has rained hard a few times and can be cool early and evening. There can be a fairly cool breeze while on the bridge and remember you can take it off but you can't put it on if you don't have it.
