Suggestions for toolkit / roadside repair (enclosed tand

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a used tandem axle enclosed cargo trailer from my company. It's a bumper pull, ramp door rear, overheight 13' (was custom built as mobile showroom).
I want to put together a kit of parts/items for roadside emergencies or repairs. I already bought two spare wheels/tires and will keep these aired-up and ready.

What else should I have?
Maybe some lights, lenses. Anything for the electric brakes?
 
Set of wheel bearings, a leaf spring and new u bolts, extra set of brakes, a cordless grinder, a good cordless drill, socket sets and wrench sets. A good jack that will fit under the axle
if the tire is flat or missing. Depends on how far you are going with it and the load but we have had to replace all of these on the side of the road already.
 


In 50 years of trailering I have never needed anymore than a spare tire wrench and jack. The rest of it is done during PMs.
 
Check and pack the wheel bearings,make sure the tires are less than 5 years old(no matter how much tread). Pull
it,I have never had trailer trouble that had to be fixed on the road.
 
A wheel bearing is cheap enough to have on hand and doesn't take up much space. Make sure you have a can of wheel bearing grease, some gloves, and rags too. I don't think you really need to keep a leaf spring on hand, though.

I normally keep all the basic mechanic's tools in my trucks to begin with, so I can pretty much fix anything on the road regardless of which trailer I have.

The axles are torsion-style. No springs, shackles to worry about.

One tire is cracking, looks like tread separation. I'm going to run it for now, just around town. But when I take a big trip (3+ hours away) I think I'll swap it out before.

f you have one near you check with the local RV/Camper dealer. They sometimes have takeoffs they will sell at a discounted price if youre one of those folks that will have to replace due to age and dry rot vs wear.
 
If you get oil bearing you will probably never need wheel bearings just change the oil once in a while. Drain and refill. 80/90 or a similar synthetic oil. Grease packed bearings when the way of the dodo. Been using oil bearings in semi's for decades now with little problem and most of them are lack of attention to oil levels and leaking seals. Cheap seals don't last and Stemco's are the best for the same price.
