Leveling PJ 20 footer

I have been dealing with rear of trailer scraping when pulling out of entranceways. Trailer is spirit level zero empty. Considering slight adjustment down towards hitch to compensate.2011 Chevy 6 1/2 foot bed four-wheel-drive.

Any thoughts to share thank you CM

I can t really tell from the picture, but I want my trailer level with the truck when empty. My wife's 1/2 ton sits higher than my old 3/4 ton,using the same ball mount hers will beat you to death,(noise up)pulling with mine it is level and rides good. I now use a different ball on each truck.

Must be an optical delusion but the trailer in the picture looks nose high to me.

I can see some vertical angle iron legs that could be trimmed off level.
I would also weld on some flat bar as skid plates.

No matter what you do you will be dragging azz somewhere sometimes.

Maybe put a couple of steel rollers under the bottom in back.

Just like a double drop lowboy can not cross some RxR tracks and a tall truck has to watch out for low underpasses you have to learn to compensate for your trailer.

You wanted a dove tail on the rear.
You wanted a trailer with the axles set forward so you could haul more than the truck can really carry.
So compensate for these and learn you can not go some places.

About all you can do is make the trailer level and maybe add a skid plate to the rear. If you bring the nose down you gona chance having the tongue scraping.

There is a crown in the cul-de-sac that gives the appearance of the trailer setting high at the hitch. Appreciate the comments.CM

I fixed a 25 footer last week. I cut the dovetail loose, jacked it up 6 inches cut wedges for the gap.rewelded everything. Added an extension to the legs on the ramps, painted everything and it now looks factory. Simple fix , happy customer.

That's a low trailer. No real good or cheap fixes for that. My advice if you can't take it back would be to raise is 3" or so. Do that by cutting off the suspension hangers and putting a 3x3 tube above them and weld them or new ones back on. Welding man's suggestion is also good. The cheapest way would be to lower the front some. Looks like you have an adjustable coupler so you can lower that some. The proper way to hook is for the trailer to be level when loaded, but you can vary that some both up and down without issue.

take ball off ball mount, turn ball mount over reattach ball it will lower the front of the trailer and raise the back

I like the blocks on the suspension idea and the rollers at the rear idea. Rollers would be easiest. Look at rv supply sites like etrailer.

Maybe more telling to show us the particular driveway causing you grief. I dont have a problem with tail dragging. I have a similar trailer from a competitor and have only come close to dragging tail in my backyard with a steep ravine.

Do you have room for taller tires? If you only need an inch or two to keep from dragging taller tires would prolly do it.
