Stake Pocket D Rings?

Just bought a 16' trailer to haul my tractors on - but I need a set of tie downs for the rear end. I found these stake pocket D rings, and they seem like a great idea. Anyone use these style? At first I thought you had to drill a hole in the pocket to accept the hitch pin, but it seems like the pin goes thru the D ring just below the bottom of the pocket?

If you have a stake pocket, why do you need anything else. Your hook should always go down, so if chain / strap gets loose won't come unhooked. But I guess pulling at a angle is hard on straps.

Another vote for stake pocket D rings. I like them as the straps do not rub against the edge of the stake pockets or rub rails. The D rings allow the hooks and straps to be above the trailer deck.
