A regular 7.3 diesel crew cab 4x4, but not the dually. The sticker on the door is far too worn to read. I weighed the truck and empty hay trailer the other night - surprised that it was 9240 lbs. Our bales are in the 45 lb range, and I always load at least 80. That's 12840... Too much? Got a few steep hills to climb to get those bales home. The last thing I need is to finish the tranny.
Thanks all
Jay

I am not sure how far back they go but you can download owners manuals off of Ford's website, this kind of information should be in there. If you tranny is in bad shape even towing under the rating may finish it off.

The truck is probably 8800 GVW and it should be around 19,000 GCW. The GCW is the same for most Ford 3/4 tons and one tons. Only the GRW or GVW is higher (11,000) on 1 tons.

I pull that type of weight all the time with my 1980 Chev heavy 1/2 ton. I have scaled out at 14,000 more then once and it pulls it just fine. But I also have a standard tranny not and auto in it
