size of a dryer for an air compressor

I have picked up some scrap 3/4 copper tubing. Is there a size it must be to be effective? Must it have 3 or 4 vertical legs? How long must or should each leg be? I think I have enough material for three legs about 4' high. Each leg will be two vertical pieces with a ball valve at the bottom.

I picked up a coil of 3/4 copper mounted it to the wall 3ft away and ran that into a filter dryer works great.

The one I saw in a video was like yours with one exception. He had the tee mounted in the vertical lines, below the tee,
instead of the tee in a horizontal line. and the ball valve was directly inline with the vertical line.

Wait.....did you mount that coil flat against the wall?

it's mounted on stauff clamps on 2x4s bolted to the wall so it's about 2" off the siding... detail in the article
