electric inductive bolt heater-upper

All,

I bought an aulifant inductive bolt heater. It worked for exactly 2 bolts and failed spectacularly. Does anyone have a reliable brand of inductive bolt/nut heater that works? I have an upcoming project that this heater is the right type of tool for the job.

Thanks,

D.

What make inductive heater did you buy and from where. I bought one from Amazon, Solary brand I believe. I haven't used it on any actual bolt removal yet, but tested it on about a 5/8 nut on a heavy bolt. Heated the nut 3 or more times, red hot. Took less than 30 seconds to do it each time, 20 seconds would probably have been sufficient. Nut came off easy, wouldn't budge before heating. I'm happy with it and the price was reasonable. I've had good luck with Amazon. not every tool or item was perfect, but getting a refund or replacement has beat just about any other retailer.

I've got a carbon torch, you squeeze the nut between the carbon rods and turn it on, it will heat the nut without much of an ark.

wsmm,

Yes, that is the one I have. I got it as a Christmas gift and used it a week or so ago.

It failed.

I attempted to get something of a return/swap/exchange.....nothing. Too many days out I guess.

I think mine was junk outta the box. It definitely took longer than 30 seconds to heat things up, 5/8 nut on a bolt.

My luck,

D,

Warranty on the unit should be one year. I would ccontact Solary directly. Do you have or can you get the receipt for your prchase?

wsmm,

Honestly, the owners manual was poor at best for warranty or contact info. If you happen to have such, please let me know. I did nuy it thru Amagon, and I do have the receipt, but what I read was I had 30 days.

Thank you,

D.

If you boght from amazon go to amazon. Search for Solary. There they will have a link to the seller and a means to send him an email. Email him regarding your problem and request him to honor the warranty. The 30 day you're refering to is to return a product to Amazon if your not happy. If you don't get a favorable reply from the seller then Amazon has a means for you to hav them interven on your psrt due to seller not honoring warranty or gereivence.

I have a Bolt Buster brand induction heater. It was about $450 in 2017. Best tool I have ever bought for the money. Don't know how I lived without it for 25 years in auto repair.
