I bought a trunk a few years ago. It has hangers for shirts & coats but what & how do the foreground hangers work?

I have three of these trunks. They are designed for high end traveling. The rear hangers are specifically for pants (over the top) and shirts on the hanger portion. The front smaller longer hangers are for tuxedo hanging (tails) so they are not folded or creased. My illustrious wife is the owner of the trunks and the very crisp definition. Often these have lower drawers that hold under ware and socks/hose/and hats. Jim

Good morning! Just a side note here; for many years, my mother used half of a steamer trunk as a sort of wardrobe/drawer unit in a small closet. It is long gone, I don't know if it was ever worth anything as an antique. Just memories of times gone by.

This afternoon I went to the Albert City Threshing Show site to see who showed up at the military building for their memorial day open house. By the way, their display of small items is growing fast, it's worth seeing. After I was there awhile one of the organizers showed me an old trunk with some "military stuff" in it a lady had given to him to bring to the museum. He opened it up and it was a WW1 trunk that I think her grandfather or great grandfather used during the first war. This trunk had traveled from the U.S. to France and back. Inside the trunk was some of his military possessions, canteen, helmet, helmet liner, leg wrapping and cloth pouch it was stored in among some other items. The major item was his uniform. The man she gave it to had the uniform professionally cleaned and it looks like brand new. He then polished the brass, wow! He showed me the 'V' s sown to the sleeve, there is three of them, one for every six months of active duty in battle. To me this is a true treasure and I am glad to see it saved so it can be displayed at the right occasion.
