The article is short on details, torque and Hp.

How does 15 L stack up to a semi tractor engine or a tractor?
15L

We have a road tractor with a C15 Cat engine, and it is the strongest truck engine we have.It makes 550 HP
It puts the Cummins N14s to shame.

I've got one truck with the C15 Cat engine or the same thing basically as the old 3406 just more electric gadgets on the engine. So comparable size for your hydrogen article. The other is an old 350HP 3406 Mechanical engine. The C-15 is in the 550 1850 torque setting. Would climb a cliff if it could get the traction. Would like to see it in a tractor would pull the world with a big enough lever. But then with a bigger lever so would a lawn mower engine.

13 and 15 liter engines are the most common at this time. We use the MACK MP8 (made by VOLVO) 13 liter engines in our MACKS and the 13 liter PACCAR MX13 in our KW and Peterbilt trucks. I'm partial to the MACK, easier to diagnose issues from my experience so far.

Pointless to run an ICE on hydrogen. Fuel cell driving an electric motor is much more efficient.

Still, handling and storing hydrogen are an issue. Much more so than the propulsion system.

Today 290 hp is pretty light,we were running 290 Cummins 30 years ago. Of course a 290 was only putting 240 hp to the ground. My Kenworth tandem has a 330 Packcar(Cummins) with a automatic. 52,000# gross and 7 mpg, lots of stop and go.

My understanding was that hydrogen, while plentiful and not real expen$ive to produce, is a really tiny molecule that is very hard to store, especially under pressure. If they've got that figured out, then it's worth noting that desalinization plants can produce hydrogen while at the same time also producing rare earth minerals like lithium as a by product. If that is correct, and I'm depending on my so called "memory" here, then that's the type of thing that should be pursued.
