How many of you carry a small flashlight as much as you carry pliers and/or a pocket knife? I do mostly because I can not see like I used to in low light.

I have two Streamlight's for shirt pocket duty. One is for everyday and a brighter one for when I'm working on something. I consider them necessities.

I have carried a 3 cell AAA Streamlite for the last 5 years. I have a new one in the drawer for backup. I could not work without it. They were not cheap, pluse I bought them from the Snapon man. I had a smaller one that took 3 AAAA batteries which were more expensive and harder to find. All are very bright.

I've still got the 3-blade BUCK pocket knife I bought WAY back when I was in 5th or 6th grade, SON bought some awesome knife sharpening equipment a year ago and sharpen It, plus the identical Buck knife I bought about 20-25 years ago. And SON bought me a brand new Buck just like the other two and sharpened it before giving it to me for my birthday. I now have all 3.
I prefer a small pair of curved jaw 5 inch Vice-Grips to slip-joint pliers, and I have about 4-5 Mini-Mag flashlights with whatever their new bulb is, maybe a halogen? With 2 new Duracell AA batteries they're bright. I have a 3 cell full size Mag-Lite flashlite that sits out on my work bench in the shop where I can grab it in a second.

I like you Tony cant see with out my streamlite. You cant go wrong with a Streamlite. I've carried this one for 20 years. Son was a distributor for them and have many different ones from small to large. Eye dr. Says it's from the darkening of the lenses in my eyes and age.

Starting to learn from the younger generation. My android phone has a good light, and very often(serial numbers, small details) taking a picture, and expanding it works better than a magnifying glass.

Got a light on my phone, an assortment of cheap LED lights in the tool box and truck.

Magnifying glass and jewelers loop also get a lot of use too!

Started with a AA Mini Maglite back in the late '80s, bought a Streamlight rechargeable in recent years, then tried Harbor Freight's Quantum rechargeable pocket light. To me, the Quantum is as good as, maybe better than Streamlight.

. Good afternoon, all: I don't carry a flashlight all the time but I keep one in each work area, meaning each place I have a tool box. Nice to have a light handy even in day time, say to look under or into something where normal room light does not reach. I have found I like the Craftsman {3 triple A} lights with the 90 degree swivel head.

In my latter years of working,I carried an AA Maglite in the front pocket of my tool pouch and a AAA Maglite in my shirt pocket, and extra batteries and lamps in toolbox or work van. My rule was never go into an attic, craw space or basement without TWO working lites. As an electrician I worked in some dark places. Now I don't carry a lite all the time but have several in various places and in every truck or car. joe

I keep flashlights handy in the work area but use the cell phone when I'm out and about. Light on it works great and you can hold it aroubd a corner or elsewhere your head wont fit and snap a picture to see hidden fastners and such.

I need a way to keep that light OFF. My phone it comes on all the time when it is not wanted. And I have NEVER turned it on, no use for it and wish it was not there. It just draines the battery when it is not supposed to. Nothing but agrivation.

Old 9. I too had a two flash light rule back when I did a lot of attic crawls. I learned you need a backup flashlight very early into my career. The second light doesnt have to be much of a light, just enough to get you out the same way you came in. Bad place to be with no light trying to step on rafters.

I carry the 1 AAA streamlight in my pocket, I use it primarily at work so it always has a good battery in it. As handy as a pocket knife

Constantly wish I had a small flashlight with me every time I check the gas in the tank or water in the radiator. I always end up using the cell phone. And I have to look at it each time to see which corner the led is in. Dave

I carry a small AA battery LED flashlight that has a clip to hold it on the bill of my cap.

At work I do. Streamlight Micro USB rechargeable. Cell phone when I don't have that. And in the winter I keep a Streamlight rechargeable headlamp in my coat pocket.

I carry an AA Maglite most of the time spring and fall, the days aren't long enough. I don't need one in Arizona very often in the winter. I did go back in an old mine once, when I got in about 100 feet the Maglite wasn't nearly big enough!

I also bought one of those 4 aaaa pocket lights , took it back when the batteries went dead, could not find batteries , nice light. belt clip lights or shirt pocket lights, would be the best, unless you would go around with a headlamp on. would be better at night.
