does anyone knows the number our the name of the spring with the little arm (around 5 inches long) right underneath the knotter, towards the front of the baler. it touches the hay a little bit as it goes thrue. One of the springs is broken. Cant figure out if its doing anything important? the baler runs fine. I need help to know what it does . Cant seem to find it in the parts catalogue?.
thanks

That arm is called a hay dog. it holds the hay from springing back when the plunger is on its
return stroke. broken springs or other problems with the hay dogs can cause intermittent and
mysterious tieing problems.

Warning, replacing that spring may cause you to bleed and/or curse.
