My guess is 1940's. I have my Dad's air drill like that, no name on it either if I recall. He told me he picked it up at an auction on the 50's when all the big aircraft plants set up for WW2 were being repurposed and the tooling sold off. I like to think it must have drilled holes in a WW2 fighter plane, but I have no proof. But certainly tens of thousands of them were needed to support the aircraft industry at the time. Air drills were the standard, the equivalent electric drill then was still too big and heavy. On an similar note, just a couple weeks ago a fella showed me a duplicating wood lathe that he said was used to carve M1 Garand stocks. It was an Oliver and did have a US Property tag on it, but no tooling. I suppose there is still a lot of that equipment still around if you knew what you were looking at.

Doug-Iowa,

I think mine is from the early 70's. Could not tell were I bought it. Maybe a , Mack. Labeled wrather then stamped,

Guido
