A silly tool

I thought this nail puller was kind of a silly tool when I bought it out of the clearance bin at TSC. I guess I must have had $3 burning a hole in my pocket. Turns out, this thing is darn handy! Its gotten plenty of use pulling nails out of floors where the old carpet tack strip has gone brittle and splintered when pried up. And yes, the jaws only open that wide. Dave

Looks like it could be handy--I recently got out my old Bridgeport nail puller to get a nail out of an old piece of rough-cut lumber I saved from a burn pile from the remodeling of a farmhouse that's most if not all of a century old. Found it amusing that the tool I was using was about that same age, and as an added bonus it turned out that the nail I pulled was an old square nail of about the same vintage.

I once called my smart @r$ neighbour a silly tool , just before I smacked him in the mouth .

I have an old Bacho telescopic nail puller , it's so efficient it can pull rusted 4" nails out of red gum with little effort .

That looks like just the ticket for pulling staples. I've pulled hundreds of staples from flooring, and haven't found a really good tool for it. I'll sometimes use fencing pliers, but the gap in the jaw makes them less than ideal. That tool looks a lot like fencing pliers.

Hey at that price silly or not doesn't matter and I can see how it would be handy for pulling nails, I will give you what you paid no problem !!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with that. I have always used vice grips or channel locks because they have a similar shape.
