Any guesses of what it is?

My guess was a trigger scale, but 700 grams makes for about 1.6# pull which is pretty light. Searching found one on eBay very similar (same patent date) that simply refereed to it as a pocket scale. The only way it might be a trigger scale is the wire has a defined hook in it to locate the trigger, and it was for setting super light double (set) triggers.
