Can this wagon frame be identified as to manufacture ? My dad's first wagon, starting farming in 1947. It had steel wheels and a rotating hitch. July 1948,6yrs old, I was given the task of driving it across the field to meet the combine. I turned it too sharp and tractor wheel rubbed the tongue and rolled the wagon upside down, before I noticed and stopped. Still remember that !!! Wondering if IH brand.

I'm almost positive it's an IH. I've got one just like it down back but it doesn't have spoke wheels.

Look at the hubcaps.I believe IH's of that vintage have the IH logo cast into the caps.We had an IH cealer in town,so a lot of the implements are IH.The pivot mechanism at the wagon end of the pole doesn't look familiar to me though.I've welded a lot of the IH ones, they'd give way before something else broke.

Nice gear. If nothing else it would make a nice display. Would look good done up for a show.

rr, We bought it with steel wheels,(horse version). I remember my dad taking the wheels to a welder and have the rims changed to the 'tire type'. That was in Bronson Mi. This is a current picture. I think about putting a deck on it for parades.

It looks a lot like a new Idea that I have. There is a tag riveted on the rear angle brace on mine. Is there any sign of orange paint on it.

The old IH logo on the one my neighbor has is a very clear, cast in logo.Very clearly nothing like yours.Spoke wheels look the same though.

I think if you had a tag on the rear bolster you wouldn't be asking this question, so that leaves looking for hidden paint and part numbers. Looks like you need at least one new tire. Wheels may have some paint left inside. I think they all looked a lot alike back then. I have an old JD I pulled out of a neighbors fence row. Find some part numbers and try to look them up.

I've got or had both IH And JD of the 40's era and this doesn't look like either in hubs ,steering ,or beams and reach . Only similarity is the all bolted assembly--no welding.
