Facebook Market place

Is there a way to check the whole USA at one search or at least a whole state. This would help if you were searching for a rare part or item?

Marketplace is easily my most hated of any online sales sites. Not very user friendly in my experience.

I use face book market place alot with no problem , on the left it says filters you can scroll down to miles and go to 250 or 500 miles , I get adds from the east coast and im on the west

500 miles is the max distance you can filter to. Of all my gripes about Facebook Marketplace, and there are a LOT, nothing irritates me more that the fact that it only shows you what it thinks you should see. It never shows every item that SHOULD show up with a search. Its the dumbest thing ever. The people that design that site are clueless or just idiots.

I have tried a couple of times, not for long tho.
All the pictures are foggy and looking at multiple pics of one item is cumbersome to me.

Maybe better if logged in?

People haven't woke up to the fact yet that Facebook is just a front for collecting personal information to sell to the highestr bidder. That is why I never go near it. IMO

I think all those phony phishing ads for brand-new John Deere or Kubota loader/backhoes, or UTVs, or enclosed trailers,or new trucks etc., etc. for 1200.oo killed CL. Once those scammers proved P.T. Barnum's maxim, CL couldnt delete their ads fast enough and the site became overloaded with them.

I never knew so many folks (typically portrayed in the ads as a young girl) had an aunt that needed their help to sell a new, very expensive piece of equipment, so cheap and so quick- all you had to do was bypass CLs security features and send her your email address directly for the details- and a virus!

Many gullible people did.

I find when searching for a somewhat unique item I can select the within 100 miles option and it will show one or two items that are nearby.

Scroll down and it will show you items that are not within your search area.

Overall I would say their search filters are poor.

The other weekend I did a search for a specific item I was after and could not find one I was willing to pay the asking price for.

Monday morning I did the exact same search and a listing came up that was 9 weeks old, exactly what I needed and priced great.

Marketplace frustrates me, as well. I hit HomeImprovement, it supplies my zip code, I filter by 40 miles and tap Tools, and the first tool it shows, when selected, says it is far from my current location. WTF

I now just let my wife and friends send me links to ads they think I would like.

Used to be a really good site don't remember name of it. It picked up add off craigslist from all over. Some time ago 5 years or more craigslist sued them and won and they had to shut down.

searchtempest.com will allow one to search the entire nation CL for items. It will also include ebay listings.

I am not on facebook so cannot comment on that, except to say everyone I've ever talked to about it has a poor opinion of the process.

With a search radius of 500 miles, would it take more than six to eight well placed searches to cover the entire 48 continental states?

I got on it early this year to sell off some Scout parts and joined several IH and tractor brand groups I'm interested in. No problems except 99% of people I've contact never follow up. I'm interested, how much, send pictures they ask more questions. I give them whatever they ask for then nothing. A couple of weeks later I message them again and no reply. Kind of fed up with it for that reason. Only one guy who contacted me ever showed up and bought parts.
