Hand Crank Reciprocating Valve Grinder Lapping

I have an antique Hand Crank Reciprocating Valve Grinder Lapping Tool.
The rubber suction cups need replaced.
Any idea where I could find just the suction cups?
I have a round too it job. When I get around to it, I need to touch up
the valves on a small engine.

I worked in a Small engine repair shop until I retired . I bought them thru the Shop .try a shop close to you or a auto parts store .

I don't know of any machine shop attached to Auto parts store that does machine work like they did to do 30 years ago.
 
Years ago I replaced such with plastic suction cups removed from toy darts that came with toy dart guns. Of course, we simply cannot have toy dart guns these days.

Perhaps suction cups from a cheap HF pick-up tool would work for awhile.

I gave up on the hand-cranked valve tool many years ago in our mower shop.

I can do the job faster and easier with the wooden "stick" type with the 2 size suction cups.

These can still be found in most auto parts stores.
 
Those were still in the Briggs and Stratton Tool catalog last time I needed one. I Have two of them. I bought the newer one still in the box when I first started mechanicing back in the '80s. I bought another older one off a table at one of the tractor shows. Guess which one works better! The older one does. With either one you have to have a good spring under the valve.
 
Last I checked HAPCO was still in business. I would try there. Over the years I have had them custom grind some cams and crankshafts, small engine single cylinders and big engines. I mostly talked with George there. I wondered for a while if that was you.
