Tire pressure sensor 2010 F250

Does anyone know for certain if a 2010 F250 has a pressure sensor in the spare tire? Since it is half a day job to teach the computer which tire is in what position I have never done it. Had the error light a couple years ago and I replaced 4 wheel sensors and now it is back with sensor error, never thought about the spare until today. Thanks

This is why I HATE newer vehicles. So much useless trash in the system that you can't take care of yourself without buying more and more parts. I know I'm no help to you Butch, but I feel better ranting about it!

Not sure if it does or not, but if there is a sensor in the spare, it shouldnt be active. The sensors need to spin with the tire to turn on.

I doubt there is one in the spare. I think the wheel has to be spinning to activate sensor.

Do you have the tool to program them? It makes life much easier!

My wife has so many low tires, I'd hate to think of her driving a vehicle without tire pressure sensors. They catch all of her tires before they go all the way flat.

I'm not sure why, but I can go several years without a low or flat tire. All my wife has to do is look at a vehicle and the tires start going down.

No I just read the procedure using the key and letting the tires down and airing them back up one by one

Same here! My wife has maybe 5 tires losing air on her car for every one I have on my pickup. Plus, the car's low profile tires make it very hard to spot. The tire pressure monitor has saved numerous tire for her.

Don't know what you have for a vehicle but I have usually had GM Chevrolet products and bought the tool to reset the TPS. Starting in mid 2010 to 2015 they changed things so it won't work on the newer ones. The tool to do it now costs hundreds of dollars. I paid quite a bit less than a hundred for mine. Just another way to send you back to the dealer to get raped on prices again. Sad part is that almost nobody has the faintest idea how to do anything in the way of maintenance on their vehicle.

WOO there horsey, I have well over 10K invested it TPMS repair and getting them into the tire... I charge what I have to you don't have to pay it you can move on life will be good to both of us...

Folks post I can get 4 sensors for $30 the tire man rapes me for $50 to install them... Let me tell ya I have spent 8 hours of my time to get them programed to the vehicle. Toyota/Lexus are famous for TPMS issues that take all the time you want to spend before you throw in the towel...

Then the next issue if I tell ya drive it some the light will go out then lets say the oil light comes on... Hobo said to drive it till the light goes out... Hobo is in a jam is he not...

That's why I have the best Equitment so I can tap into the OBD diagnostic connector and program the sensors to the computer... If need be drive it till the sensors are programed...

It may seam extrem BUT you get what you pay for and I sleep well at night...

Can not tell ya I would have to do a scan on it... I just did a 2011 and a 2012 Ford truck neither ask I scan the spare... When it don't ask I don't go look'N...

I have has issues with Toyota/Lexus I have went as far as put the sensors 50ft from each other all in said and done it took and ask me to scan the spare. In the end when I trigged them especially the right rear it picked up the spare the spare was fudging up order...

If it has a clamp in and it don't its a no brainer Most fords use a snap in are banded, Banded are a thing of the past but not forgotten...

2010 would have been at the very end of banded, banded are replaced with the snap in style...
