The message about the toolbox down below got me thinking now that my old one is paid for!!!!!---Tee

I still use the bottom of the Craftsman set I bought used in 71 for $65 from Jesse Stuart.
Yours seems to have endured a harder life than mine Tee. gm

I made payments on my Mac toolbox while working as a Aircraft mechanic after my short military career.Mac man came by every week and I gave him some money, still have the top and bottom toolbox, that was 1972.

I have thousands of dollars of Snap On tools & they are worth three, four, five times what I paid for them new in the 70s. Not a bad investment as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, BUT...wages have increased three, four, or fives times of what they were from the 70s also.
As far as tools being an investment, the latest flier from Snap-On has their 114ATMP 14-piece 1/4" drive SAE shallow socket set listed for $346. Yes, that's three hundred, forty six dollars. (Yea, I know nobody really pays MSRP on Snap-On tools, unless you need it NOW!), but still....
Don't get me wrong, Snap-On makes good tools. However, I'm not sure they could be labeled as an investment.
