MityVac Suggestions

I've been looking at the MityVac tools for my needs. What I want to do with it:

1: Pump out shock oil from front motorcycle tubes.
2: Bleed brakes on old style system: 67 Chevy, 48 Pontiac
3: Pressure test outdrive on MerCruiser

Looking at the MityVac 8000 series

Any feed back appreciated.

I think mine is the 8500? Works but the metal handle tears up your fingers when it pops out. It isn't pinned, just slips in and unfortunately slips out. The old original style was much more user friendly.

I made a one man brake bleeder from a jar. I soldered to fittings in the lid. I used engine vacuum for a vacuum source. It really works good. You can watch the fluid go into the jar. Just dont let it get full and go into the engine. I also have the mighty vac and the one man brake bleeder. You just pump a vacuum up and suck the brake fluid out of the bleeder. You have to be quick and handy to shut the bleeder so no air goes back in.

If you put the tube coming from the bleeder into some brake fluid in the bottom of the jar then you shouldn't get any air back into the system.

in theroy it should works that way. the air you do get bleeding brakes like that is from the threads on the bleeder screw sucking air when bleeder is open. take the bleeder screw out and coat threads with heavy grease. the grease seals the threads and makes it harder for air to find it's way in.
