I have had a rabbit vertical for quite a few years now and it works great.

Pretty sure that what you are showing is a slightly different design from the same company.

I have a similar one. Lift handle, put on bottle and squeeze. Push handle down and the screw goes into the cork. Pill handle and out comes the cork. Push handle down again squeeze and pull the handle back up to release the cork.
Easy as pie!

I prefer the one my mom has. You lift 2 handles and the screw come down screw it in then lower the handles and the cock comes out

(quoted from post at 16:41:19 01/12/21) A sheet metal screw and a claw hammer work very well. TDF
ith a box of wine, just push a button & wine comes out! :D

We've tried many corkscrews, including some really expensive ones we received as gifts, but we always come back to this one. Originally sold under the "Screwpull" brand, they're now sold by Le Creuset. At thirty bucks for something that's mostly plastic, they seem a bit expensive but THEY WORK.

The secret to this design is two ridges inside the corkscrew body, which grab the cork as it comes out. That stops the cork from turning so you can just turn it out with the screw. Simple. It's very compact if you want to take it on a picnic or just don't want to use up a lot of room in your drawer.

Jim in Rush co,

This one is made in France. Wood is grape vine. No clue of its age. It was a gift from the 70's

A good corkscrew can be a triumph of design and thing of beauty .
Sadly here in Australia almost every vineyard has switched to screw top enclosures , corkscrew are now rapidly going the way of lace hooks and gas flint guns .

Well Charles I glad that the land down under is becoming modernized. Here in the land up above we have things like cars and cell phones. Someday you guys will get them too. lol

:D .
Very funny BC .
We even have this stuff called electricity but it's more than twice as powerful as most of yours at 240 volts .
A point closer to Guido's original topic , the wine cask , wine in a box or Chateau cardboard as it's known as here is an Australian invention . It seems Aussie's are always at the forefront of new and easier ways to drink alcohol . Oh and by the way , prohibition never reared its ugly head on our shores .
