I posted yesterday about needing cleaner to soak a carb I’m working on. Went to 2 different auto parts place that are in my area and they only had Berrymans in an aerosol can. I ended up with the Napa brand “ parts cleaner’”. I could have done some more driving around to find some of the other suggestions you guys made, but I got lazy and didn’t feel like making a half day project out of it. Hopefully this works, if not I’ll have to try some of the other suggestions. Thank you to everyone who replied !

When I do a carb I try to spray off the out side before putting it in to soak. That way at least some of the grease etc. is off before you take it apart

This is still that Mikuni snowmobile carb I’m working on Old. Pretty outside, but the internal passages are still plugged. Still can’t blow through the gas inlet even with it completely disassembled ! I need to get it running and out the door this week as I’m headed to Texas next week for work training.

Looks a lot like some of the motorcycle carbs I have worked on over the years and if it is a 2 stroke they do tend to clog up easier then 4 strokes do

Probably very similar to a motorcycle carb. It is 2 stroke but has oil injection so carb only sees normal gas . Not a mix. Bought gasket and new pilot jet. The rest is pretty straight forward .

Try an ultra sonic cleaner if you can . I use one for my Zenith tractor carbs , it shifts deposits that nothing else will .

The worst blocked off passage is the gas inlet to the needle and seat. I tried my tip cleaners, but they are too short and wouldn’t reach all the way. I am currently looking for something small yet flexible enough to reach the whole way.

bought one of those on ebay several years ago. They are a common tool for jewelers. Maybe around $35. Works very well with laundry detergent and water.

Berkebile 2 +2 is a very good/aggressive aerosol cleaner that I've used in the past. Available on Amazon and some auto parts stores (they may have to order it).
