Any idea what this wooden clamp was used for, or how old it might be? Found it in a shed when I bought my house years ago and tucked it away and forgot about it until going through my pole barn.

Also found this wrench. Can barely read DEERE in it, but doesn't make sense with it being gray.

The wrench probably came with vehicles or machinery around 100 years ago.

I have a few of them around.

That clamp is actually a bench vise attached is a picture of a more modern version showing how it was attached to the workbench. The wrench was factory issues with some piece of equipment. To answer your color question some farmer probably painted it grey or silver to help keep track of it, as I believe it would have originally been painted green, which can easily get lost in the grass. Both items were common or most popular between the 1870's to the 1940's.
