HP Printer making me crazy

Good afternoon:
I have an HP brand printer model 7155. This afternoon, when I tried to print a document from my IMAC, it came out with horizontal blank areas. I tried printing a color photograph (JPEG format), similar result. I tried printing a color JPEG from my old HP laptop, it worked fine. I thought something about my wireless network in the house was not right. BUT, a few minutes ago, I used my IMAC computer to print a document, and it printed perfectly. Nothing has been rebooted or repaired in this house today, so why did it NOT work earlier and then worked OK later? Any folks with computer wireless networking knowledge, please respond if possible. Thanks much!

Hi, not my field of operations but when similar happens with my
Epsom BX300F it’s a sign that the heads need cleaning or realigning
which my machine can do itself. Are all your ink cartridges ok for ink?

I always suspect problems with a wireless network. Too many things to go wrong, poor signals, etc. I always prefer hard-wired. If you think the hardware is working properly then wire it in and see
if the performance improves.

I service business equipment for a living. Ink jets are a pain to say the least. Is the image you got the correct length? If the overall length and width are correct I would clean your printheads like previously stated. If length is off pursue a connection issue.

Likely either a print head or ink problem. Wired or wireless should make no difference, it either communicates or it doesnt. Most ink jets are disposable, the ink dries out its not worth replacing.

There might have been something from an aborted print job in the printer's memory that caused the iMAC jobs to fail. If so, printing from a Windows machine could have cleared it out, just because the two computers use different print drivers. It's not a wireless vs. wired issue so much as how each computer sends commands to the printer and how those commands are interpreted by the printer.

Occasionally my printer will spit out garbage, but it's always OK on the second attempt.

From what you're describing, I would guess that one or more print nozzles was starting to dry out. That's a common thing when printers are not used very often.

Use the option to clean nozzles/jets/print head (depending on how yours is worded).

If the ink is more than a year old, it may be drying out a little. In the olden days I would take a damp towel and moisten the glob of ink on the printer cartridge. Nowdays, is usually best to throw away that cartridge and replace with a new one.

Good evening: I am replying to my original post. Sending a print from the IMAC showed skipped horizontal lines in the document. Later I tried printing sent from HP, and that worked. I also re-tried printing from the IMAC and that worked too! Now I will say the time period may have given my wireless router (or whatever else is in this house) time to correct itself. Today I can print ok from the IMAC which was involved in my original post. For right now, I thank folks for their suggestions, I think my problem is ok now.
