Looking at fabricating a tractor splitter for my new 1947 8n tractor.
Release bearing is noisy when depressed and quite once peddle is pressed.
Notice the retail price is ridiculous for a splitter. $700 to start.
Angle iron for track. Jack stands fabricated with wheels and a platform for tractor.

Two floor jacks and a way to bind them to the tractor. Most folks around here do it that way. You only need to roll about a foot to do the work. Make sure you crib it well once split so that it doesnt tip. I like using an engine hoist on the engine side, with floor jack on the trans.

I like to block up, wedge front axle, and hang the front end, engine and front axle. The engine and front end is by far the most likely to get away but with it hanging it won't go far. Then put a good dolly under the bellhousing and you can roll the rear back.

There are a dozen ways to do it. I have done it several ways, best for me is block transmission so tractor is level, using my engine hoist take weight of front and move front forward. I also took 4 long bolts the size that bolts engine to transmission cut the heads off and replace the bolts as you remove the ones holding the tractor together. These will serve as a guide both splitting and putting her back together. Just don't force anything. When putting back together, put pto in gear and rotate the pto to line up the splines in transmission. luck joe
