My neighbor called and said he saw
smoke, and the mower stopped running.

He unplugged the solenoid and send me
this picture. I told him I got one come
and get it.

He did, all is well againg!

Guido.

Hello J Hamilton,

Yep! He cought it in time. Sparks and gas don't mix!
Never seen one smoke out like that.....

Guido.

Hello J Hamilton,

I repared a few in my time also, I may just take the time to put in an inline fuse on mine, as I have the same set- up,

Guido.

Hello FLOLDFORD,

You can also remove the solenoid and replace it with a threaded cap.
The problem with dieseling is that they have increased the idle speeds, and that is why they needed to stop the fuel flow.

Lowering the R.P.M.'S is needed on some applications if the solenoid is removed,

Guido.

I've removed quite a few of them without issues and your right you have to adjust the idle speed sometimes to get them to shut down, I've worked on more than a few engines that would not run because the solenoid was stuck closed especially on generators.
