Critter problems

Moved to town 6years ago. I had a real problem finding tomato plants this year, evidently a lot of people are planting them this year. Anyhow, I only plant two tomato plants, all I have room for. Had a cluster of four halfway decent size green tomatoes on the one plant. Looked this afternoon and two have disappeared, lock, stock, and barrel, not a trace left. What would take 2 green tomatoes? Never had that problem in 60 years. Luckily the other plant has 14 tomatoes. I wait all year for some nice tomatoes and this kills me. What do you think, rabbits, deer, something else?

Two legged one wanting to fry up some fresh green maters? Just a thought....

We sprinkle moth balls (no smart remarks please) around the outer edge of our garden. Deer, rabbits, ground hogs, whatever, do not like the smell. I even put several around an old shed where ground hogs kept coming from. Have not seen any there in over a month now.

Could be a ground hog. I had one several years ago that came and took a bite out of every tomato on the plant - then go to the next one and do the same thing.

I agree with most squirrels, rabbits will eat the actual plant when it is small, turtles will eat holes in the fruit once it starts to ripen, but squirrels will take theirs to go.

Thanks, guys....We do have lots of squirrel in our yard, sounds like they could be the culprits. I sprayed with Liquid Fence deer repellent and I will put out some moth balls, too.
