I recently picked up a used set of S-K sockets with a ratchet in a BLUE plastic case (the case has the S-K molded in it). Any ideas of when
they used the blue case instead of the green?

Yeah, I have quite a few of the green metal boxes from the 50;s and probably the 60's and 70's with the black plastic insert. My green plastic case (injection molded I suppose) is from the 80's. Just wondering about the blue plastic case.

Unfortune

tly the company has changed hands several times so there may not be any record of the blue boxes.

If I am remembering right, SK used dark blue cases when they were owned by Facom, in the mid 1980s.

Incidentally, I have a set of SK 3/8 inch drive sockets from about that time that bear an absolutely striking resembelance to Thorsen sockets of that era, not at all like any of the SK sockets I bought in the previous 15 years.

Kevin, I just talked with a girl at the SK tool factory in Sycamore, IL and she said she has never seen or heard of the blue boxes. She also said they have no "records" of the company before 2010.

Been had and it's a cheap knock off but they didn't get the color of the case right?
I'd say maybe S-W but they were out way before blow moulded plastic became popular.
