All,
Had a wood[pecker problem near the roof edge of my house. I had thoughts of shooting the rascal, but turns out he is a protected bird.
So, I tied my cell phone to an extension pole to see what he was after. I did not see anything of interest to him. I did leave the stepladder there, and when he flew back, he was chirping angrily at me and the ladder. He flew off. I left the ladder there for about a week.
Since then, I hung a wind twirling plastic something from the gutter.
No more woodpecker! Either he is dead, or that piece of colored twirling plastic was enough to disrupt hhis pattern of pecking on my house.
