making it work

Problem today was a mini-mag light with bad batteries(AA'S) stuck in it. Yes old batteries tend to get stuck. The first one was easy. Just took a self drilling screw and with a washer and drill popped right out. Second battery was down almost 3 inches, so how to drill the center of battery? After pondering for a while, my solution was to wind electrical tape around the drill bit to keep it centered. Worked great! Got the battery out and saved the light. joe

The last time I ran into that problem I used a old auger bit in a bit brace. Picked a size of bit that would slide down the case without actually cutting anything but would keep the screw on the end of the auger bit centered in the battery. The screw tapped into the battery with minimal effort, I pulled it back out with the battery attached, and was back in business with a slight clean-up and fresh batteries.

Wish Id read these before I mushroomed the end of the flashlight tube banging it on a 2x4 to get the corroded batteries out!

I had batteries leak and swell up in a flashlight. I sent it to the battery company and they sent me a new flashlight.
