Power tool battery

It might work, even then you are risking the battery from over voltage uncontrolled charging, or an internal controller that gives the charger "permission" to charge. Jim

Why don't you tell us what tool made by what company. The answer is maybe since we don't have enough information to make a real decision.

(quoted from post at 19:45:43 03/25/20) I use an inverter to change to 120 and then plug in the regular charger, doesn't take a very big inverter.

Won't work. He is waiting for his charge to be repaired.

Short answer. Look at the battery. If it has 3 or more post (contacts) then no it cannot. The battery is charged in stages and uses each post to charge. And two + & - to power the tool.

(quoted from post at 18:02:59 03/25/20) Can you charge a power tool battery off a pickup battery to get by until my charger gets repaired?

Depends. What voltage and what type of battery?

18V anything... Nope.

12V, only if it's a Nicd or Nimh.

Lithium batteries have protection circuits that work in conjunction with the charger and the tool. Can't easily charge them, and overcharging individual cells can cause fires.
