Re: Best round baler for corn stalks

We don't bale a lot of stalks so we just
use the JD belt baler we have. It is a
bit rough on the belts. Guys who do a lot
of stalks around here have their
preferred brand of nice belt baler for
hay, and an old NH chain baler for the
stalks. They bale loose, but the chains
almost never wear out. Some of the guys
then get the bales wrapped in plastic
which sort of turns it into silage after
sitting for awhile. We have a pit for
silage so we mostly use stalks for
bedding down the barns for winter calves.
