Vintage Sheldon Lathe

How much would this Sheldon lathe be worth....scrap price? I know nothing about lathes but figure I could begin on this old timer. Neighbor that owned it passed away five years ago. It worked fine for the small jobs he did.

This one is small and they are asking $2500.00 for it. Condition means a lot though.

I think your picture problem is something else. I recently changed user name and password.

I've heard that the small ones will bring more $$ because it's easier to get them into a basement.

Certainly more than scrap price, but no way this is worth 2500. I bought on auction, a year ago, a nice quick change gear lathe for $400...expected it to go for 6-8. No motor, 6 foot bed. Few years ago I bought an 8 foot bed quick change for $750.

Lots of Sheldons on eBay . They are all priced about 2500 and look to be about worth 800.

Depends allot on your location, around industry about what has been said. Here in rural OK it would easily bring $15 - 18 hundred.
