generator update

Boss's son was going to get another generac and someone told us about a Kolher 14/20RESA in St. Louis. He got it for $2500 and I have found that it has never been run. Is there a web site that I can get the manuals for it. Need to change over to Propane. They want to replace the Katolite with this unit which is at one of our tower sites. He is going to get a Honeywell for our shop which had the generac. Anyone heard of a Honeywell?

Kohler is a good brand one of the better ones. You should try at Smokstak Kohler section. I believe Honeywell is a rebranded Generac. Not the best units out there. Known by most of us that know. As Genajunk.

Let me restate that. When I was dealing with standby units. They had good units. The RV units I didn't think much of. Just like Onan was a good unit. Until Cummins bought them and destroyed them.

Honeywell generators are re-branded Generac. Best price on a Honeywell can be found at Costco unless you find some Ebay or Cragislist deal. Honeywell does use a different control than Generac and the retailer that I talked to advised that you need to find an installer/service tech that is familiar with Honeywell units.

I looked at a number of brands/sizes and settled on a Briggs & Stratton 12kw with a smart 200A transfer switch for my house. Generac dealer 1/2 mile from home but the dealer is only open 11-4 M/W/F and number of bad reviews scared me away.

I managed to download some information from Electric Generators Direct. Sometimes if they carry the model you have their site may have the manual for it.

Like said. Honeywell is basically a Generac. I would not buy a Honeywell branded generator when you could get a Generac and have far more support.

Honeywell use to offer great products. But now days everything seems to be cheaply made or rebranded from some cheap company.
