lawn sweeper with a MOTOR

Any of you folks have a lawn--grass clipping machine that pulls behind your mower and the machine has a 8-9-10 HP motor that pulls the clippings into a trailing wagon.

I have sold the "Sweep-All" brand of powered sweeper. They will sweep about anything but they are not cheap. A 48" with a Honda 5.5 HP motor will run around $4500. One like the one in the picture is around $6K

When I was young, we had inherited a powered, self-propelled lawn sweeper, think it was a Sears. Not tractor-pulled, but walk-behind. It was great for leaves in the Fall.

I use a Lawn Genie, PTO-driven flail mower/sweeper, made by the Matthews Company. While mowing, I blow the clippings together into a windrow of sorts, then make a couple passes with the Lawn Genie to pick up the extra, works pretty good. My main use for it is harvesting green chop from between the grape rows to feed to my cows. In a dry summer, that seems to be the only place the grass grows well, and I need to keep it under control. If they wouldn't eat the grapes/leaves, I'd just fence it off and let them do the work.

WE have A 718 Grasshopper mower with high vacuum and A large hopper on the back that is dumped by just pulling on a lever and the leaves or grass slides out they also make A bin that will raise up and will dump into A truck or trailer

Every time I see something about a lawn sweeper I think back to my youth when Mom would sweep the yard if she was expecting company. There wasn't any grass. Us kids would have to do it in a pinch.
