John Deere 755 Hydralic filter

OEM filter p/n AM102723 Is about $25.00 which cross reference to WIX 51516 $8.50. What am I missing here... is it brand name or is the JD filter better?

Well I do not know the answer. But JD is not usually too bad on oil filter prices so it makes me wonder if something inside of it is better ? For on my tractor I put the JD filters and oil on for piece of mind so I do not put something wrong on there and goof up my hydro. The change interval IIRC is not all that often so I pay the extra and go on without wondering. Walk into Autozone and see how much oil and filters cost there. I just get the stuff for my car from Honda and it is close to the same price as the unknown.

AFAIK, WIX has a reputation for making quality filters.

The hydraulic system on your tractor is about as basic and simple as it gets.

If the cross reference is correct and the WIX filter fits and seals in place properly I wouldn't lose a second's sleep over using it.
