My harbor freight experience

Welding supply store was closed late Saturday, so I stopped off at HF 3 miles way to buy tips for mig welder. I had a 20% off coupon. Cashier said, sorry you can't use the coupon on this item. So I gave it to the guy next in line. I usually don't shop at HF.

Yes, the 20% coupons don't apply to certain items named right on the coupon in print so small it almost can't be read. I wanted one of their Bauer planers but the coupon wouldn't allow it so I went on line and found a coupon for that precise tool which actually worked out to 20% off anyway so I bought it. Very pleased with it.

A friend of mine that lives in NJ has a HF right up the street from his house he brings me a big box full of tools and other things he gets for free at HF with some sort of coupons
How does that work? Most of the stuff is pretty good really.

I've never not been able to use a 20% off coupon on anything with the exception of a bandsaw sawmill. It was an online purchase only and when I entered the coupon it said it couldn't be used on that item so I didn't get the mill.

I look at it this way- I never, ever get 20% off coupons from Snap On, Mac, Proto, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Air-Gas, Grainger, any welding supply company, NAPA, Autozone, etc. I do from HF. What I buy from them I buy with the knowledge I'm not getting a top of the line tool, but I'm getting a tool that will likely work for me. Go in with that attitude and it makes it a different experience.

Recently, I installed a 22" LED light bar to the ROPS on my B3350 Kubota. I use a FEL mounted snow plow on the 3350, and the FEL interferes with the tractor head lights.

Bought the light bar and wiring kit (with switch, etc.) from HF with coupons. Total out the door was about $110.

I shopped a similar light bar at my local CNH dealer. Parts guy told me that his cost on the light bar was about $151 and no wiring kit offered.

So far so good.

20% coupons will not work on the predictor or Hercules lines either. I have tried then on both lines.

I buy from HF all the time, they email and also text the 20 and 25 percent off coupons regularly to my cell phone. I get free stuff with every purchase.

I am like Dean, if you go in there knowing what you are buying may not be top of the line but priced right , lots of bargains. And I have found things that are not allowed on the 20% of but it is on the coupon.

This was on before but it is still cute!---Tee

Was there yesterday to pick up a set of step drills. Wow those things aint cheep even at harbor freight! The cashier was showing a customer how to access those coupons on their smart phone. Don't go to the HF web site! Just type in hrbor freight coupons. They will all pop up then for you. Every once in a while a special super coupon shows up with NO restrictions at the bottom. they are gold if you find one. That is the one you can steal a generator with. Those free lites with any purchase have changed. The old ones had 24 leds and the new ones have a COB strip in them. Wow are they bright! These hose nozzles work really well too.

Two others. This list is on the bottom of the coupon. Every now and then they have a lost leader coupon in their mailer that is a super deal.

Does Harbor freight sell a magnifier that magnifies good enough to rear the fine print on those coupons ???? if so I better get one.

I think they've got a coupon for one of those but I cannot read the fine print.

Bingo, Jeff.

I used a super coupon when I bought my 7,000 W running, 420 CC generator.

I paid just around $500 for it plus about $20 for the wheel kit and about $35 for the cranking battery. Patience is a virtue.

It's a back up for the back up and I've never used it but I do start it once or twice each year after flushing the gasoline. I also charge the battery every 4-6 weeks.

So far it starts, runs and generates as expected.

Where else can one get a generator for similar price?

Dean

I have that funnel set. It's handy for various tasks where space is limited.

Probably got a free flashlight or DMM when I bought it.

That fine print is text book fine print that?s the kind the used car salesmen use. I snap a pic with my phone and then zoom in works great car sales dude hates it.

Some harbor freight coupons are only good in 1 state and not in another. That is what the little gal at the counter told me about 1 of the 20% off coupons I had.

I just wish those super coupons would come out a little more often. That 20% off on the normal stuff is nice but motors and such would be even nicer!!

So what are we critiquing here, Horror Fright enforcing their coupon policy, or George not taking the time/attention needed to read up on what the coupon would be accepted for?

What's really neat is the hook on the rear. Perfect for working under the hood on your truck and yes they are really bright.

And your gripe is what?? Were they open?? Did the product function?? Was it less $$ than your first choice of purchase?? C'MON MAN !!

I purchased a Welder and in came with a 20% off non-expiring coupon for welding accessories. I use it every time I need expendables.

No he knows how to work the coupons.I guess its like CVS my wife and cousin have the coupon/rebate thing down at CVS get all sorts of stuff for free or next to nothing.
