How do you do it?

I need to remove hub-piloted dual wheels. Removed the nuts, used the BFH, no luck. How do you do it? Heat? a special tool?

If they are corroded between the rim and hub, porta power with a long leg against the tires on the other side. Possibly a fence post and bottle jack would work. Work your way around the set you are trying to get off.

Drive a big screwdriver between the two rims to loosen the outer rim. Then use a bar with a hook on the end to pry the inner rim off. Works for me. Ron

I would hate to see a set of stuck aluminum, or even steel for that matter, bud rims that had a wedge driven between them.

See if the local tire shop that deals in semi truck tires will loan or rent you an AME Wheel Puller. Even a local tool rental or trucking company may have one.

We had a customer bought a new ferd. We spent hours attempting to get the inner rims off, put a port a power against the frame and started to bend the frame. We wound up replacing the inner duals with the rims still on the truck. It was difficult. It had a large service type body on it. We used balancing beads in them.

I learned this from a truck shop, works on my ford f350 wheels too. Those can be a real pain to get off, but a light whack with a heavy hammer and they pop right off.
