This set was on truck when I got it.They are not made out of the normal tubing but a thick wall casing. The truck belonged to a steel fabricator and I think they custom built them.

The problem I've had with those type of running boards is that they sit too high on the truck to be of any use. They need to be about half-way between the truck's floor and the ground, but that becomes problematic in the real world. The power steps tuck up in under the floor, completely out of the way. I'm a taller-than-average guy, so I have little problem climbing up into a lifted truck, but short people need that mid-level step to reach the hand grab.

That's for a pair. When I got mine they were around $1100. All aluminum construction. Money well spent. The dealer gets $700 for the cheapest steel tubes China can produce, and they will literally fall apart in 5 years.

Here's a company that sells power steps with a discount: https://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/amp-power-step-running-boards

Pretty and functional at the same time, if you spend most of your time on pavement.

We were out fishing at a remote lake with lots of ruts and holes to maneuver on the way in.

Friend showed up in his pretty new Ford, rolled down the window and started bragging about how his new truck had no problem at all getting down the trail.
The big smile on his face turned to a look of panic when he tried to open his door, one of the tubes had been bent upward going through a rut blocking both L.H. doors from opening more than a couple of inches.

Hello determined,

Well! I am a bit more careful than that. Old truck with same
steps 2005 vintage,

Guido.

Best of luck with your purchase.

I built these for my F350 because I couldn't find any commercial ones that were low enough for my wife to get in. They didn't turn out like I wanted, but have been working good. They are aluminum.

Hello jon,

Nothing wrong with them. I did aluminum step on my old truck on the passenger side out of a 1/4 in frame piece a couple of trucks back. I don't think I have a picture though, but I still have the extension piece,

Guido.

You must not live in a rust belt. I have had 2 sets of Bully steps that were aluminum and the aluminum can't take the salt.
