OT: email question

I use email as sort of a tool regarding tractors and other endeavors. I have a small computer-like thing called a G-Pad, made by LG company. It is like an upsized smart phone. It has Gmail in it, with my several email accounts, same accounts I have had for years using various computers and smart phones. The Gmail seems unable to access my main account, which is from my original email and land line provider. The Gmail system claims the password was changed in the account so it can't access it. My laptop running Microsoft Mail can access the same account with no problem. My question is, can I safely delete the account from the G-Pad (running Gmail), without impairing the basic account itself? My intent would be to later try opening an account in the same user name in the Gmail.
Thanks for any comments and help!!

Hi, tech4:
I called up that web site; he gives good advice but it is copyright April, 2015. His instructions do not match my G-mail screens and I could not get it to accept my intended email account, it said the password was wrong. I am still "in the dark", but I can use the same intended email account on the laptop, so that will be enough for now. Thanks for the comment!

DMartin9N-2N,
None of your email accounts reside in your G-pad, laptop, PC or smartphone.
Those are just tools to use to go look in your email accounts where ever they are in a server somewhere.

The "password is wrong" your getting might be a "generic" error window. The address of the intended account and the password must be [u:02ab8a6e42]exactly identical[/u:02ab8a6e42] to what your using via the laptop.
They can not be "off" by one digit or space in the boxes you enter them into.
Are you manually logging into the intended account on both tools? Or does the account come up on the laptop with one click of the account icon?

Also, in the past two months google forced all websites to be "secure". And if your intended email account website has not updated to be "secure", some browsers will not let you in.
What browser are you using on the laptop and what are you using on the G-pad?
I am betting it is the chrome browser and your laptop is something else thus letting you in.

You can go to the gmail site and delete your whole account.NO!!!!!

or you can delete you account off of the pad in the settings .. YES!!!!!

email can require several different types of log in. imap, pop and/ or smtp authentication on outgoing mail. this is probably why the pad does not work with the one email account.

So again, you can remove the account from the pad under its settings. do NOt go the the gmail website and remove the account there.

hope this helps.

Hi, Soxtbill and others:
I went into the mail on the G-pad as I normally would and got into the "Manage Accounts" feature, I then deleted the account that was not useable. The rest of the accounts the G-pad accesses for me still work ok. My Microsoft email in my laptop, which is my main computer, was not affected; all accounts still work ok.
Thanks to folks for being interested.
